#WatchaWearinJanuary New Horizons Vermont Cardigan

If you’ve been following my blog or instagram – you will know that I have a very solid love for New Horizons (affiliate link)!  I have made countless patterns from the designer, and have had good luck with fitting (once I add in my my standard adjustments).  This experience was no different, and for my #watchawearinjanuary post, I wanted to share one of my latest makes – the Vermont Cardigan -since I seriously want to wear it every day!

As you can see from the design drawings below, the pattern is extremely versatile and can be dressed up or down!  I’ve seen a couple patterns for long cardigans and a couple for your standard cropped – but it’s truly unique to be able to get so much value from the pattern by having the ability to fit once and sewing multiple times for multiple occasions!

I personally decided to sew up the cropped length, banded bottom, long-sleeve, crew-neck with a narrow binding sweater (try saying THAT three times fast! 😂 ) in a double brushed poly from Knitpop.  I got the material in a bundle along with the fabric I used for my Diana Wrap dress, previously blogged here. Shhh – it was like wearing pajamas to work!!

For many of my fellow seamstresses (present company included), sewing on buttonholes is a real pain -enough so that occasionally things end up in the UFO (unfinished object pile)…   Determined to not have that happen, and conveniently immediately after Katie at The Creative Counselor did a post on finishing up her Deer and Doe Bruyere with snaps – I knew I had a clear path forward (no buttons – just the snaps, ma’am)!
