Color Me Lucky – Pantone 2017 Part 2

Have you been keeping up with the Color Me Lucky Blog Tour?  The concept is to incorporate the newest Pantone 2017 color scheme.  We are free to interpret that as we may!  For my first post, I posted about the color flame…  This time, I decided to focus on the Lapis Blue – and I LOVE it!

This is the second week I’m posting a make and for this one, I decided to build upon my comfort capsule idea.

This is my second Hey June Santa Fe top, this time in a double brushed poly from So Sew English fabrics.  It really is a comfortable top and a wonderful addition to my wardrobe.  The first time I made it I used rayon spandex, but this DBP feels like butter!

I’ve now completed two Aurora tops, one cocoon Cardigan, one pair of joggers, and one pair of Portlanders pants!  The last make in that series is now a pair of Peg Leg leggings by Patterns for Pirates (there is a code to score them for free in the Facebook group).

I increased the band height to 10 inches and cut it on the cross grain which is holding my belly in like compression wear – who needs spandex when you can use THIS technique! This fabric is a brushed poly from Wanderlust Fabrics (not to be confused with DOUBLE brushed poly) – and is more firm feeling than DBP…  I’ve never worked with Brushed Poly – but I think this is the perfect use for it!

Have you made anything inspired by the Pantone 2017 color palette?  I’d love to see what you made!

  1. The Lapis blue is such a great neutral color for most people. And I love how it just pops with your skin tone. Even your leggings have hints of Flame and Yarrow!
